Travel Baseball
Running, running, running everywhere!
That's what we did for our first year of travel baseball. I would say that we LOVED every minute of it. I would say that my son should have played more as well as some other kids. It was a very big learning experience not only for my son but me as well. Learning to pick my battles as a momma bear and when to speak up. That aside, my son grew as a baseball player which is what we wanted.
Would I let him do this again? We'll, that depends. I want my son to start making choices and becoming responsible. I think if there is a different coach then yes, or a different team then yes. I believe that if a child tries out for a team and makes it and puts up great stats then that child deserves to play even if it's over your own child if your the coach.
Travel baseball isn't for the faint of heart. It's going to practices everyday, going and running to other towns across the state amd even other states. It's staying at campsites and hotels.
Do I recommend travel baseball? Absolutely but be prepared and be wise. Know when to speak up for your child and when not to. Let your child have fun!
